The third finalist moving on is Justin David.
Justin sings "Man of Constant Sorrow."
My thoughts: This song is a good fit for Justin, who again has his mandolin. He really picks it too.
Anastasia - Justin, I dig your playing. I love your song choice. But, it's a hard one to sing. Last week you made my toes curl. This week, your pitch problems made my ears bleed.
Phil - You know I think, I think you did.. last week I thought it was sort of this.. (holds hand to show a middle rating) but, it was better to me tonight. So, I thought it was a lot better. I'm just saying... my toes didn't curl or anything.
Bret - My toes did curl. And let me tell you something..
Phil - He's easy. He's easy.
Bret - Justin, I'm gonna tell ya something. I'm an artist. I have a tough time busting anyone hard. I'll say it.
They tell me I gotta be mean. But I can't be mean to you, dude. You have a cool, relaxed vibe. You're cool, dude. You're just cool.
The fourth finalist moving on is "Erika Jo."
Erika sings "Here for the Party."
My thoughts: For someone who says she's not a party person, she really shows a lot of energy, going off stage and even calling out Bret Michaels in the song. She sounded a bit off when she sang the low part of the song, though.
Bret - This is a party going on. Let me just say this right now. There's a party on my bus after the show. And we're all going back there. I'm ready to go.
Anastasia - Ok, fabulous vocalist. Unbelievable. But live the song that you picked. Live it next time.
Phil - Yeah it was great. I tell you what. I love you jumping around like that. That's really nice. She's here for the party, dude. And she's 18. She can't party.
The fifth finalist moving on is "Casey Simpson."
Casey sings "Whatever It Takes."
My thoughts: It's a pretty song, but I'm not really familiar with it. I think after the more energetic numbers up to now, it's a bit of a letdown to hear such a slow ballad. Plus, I think she seemed a bit pitchy.
Anastasia - Ok, I have to be honest. I am not sure yet if I see a true artist in front of me. But I do sure see a pretty singer.
Phil - Yeah. Yeah. I like the hair too. Lotta curls going on. I like the curls. You seemed nervous, but there's only millions of people watching. I mean, that's nothing. Don't be nervous.
Bret - I'm gonna cut right to it, Casey. You know, I told you last week. You are a beautiful girl. And you got a good voice. Here's the thing. I would like you... I'm not going to say what I really wanna say right now. She's hot. That's all it is. You are hot.
The sixth finalist moving on is Jason Meadows.
Jason sings "I'm From the Country."
My thoughts: He always seems really comfortable on stage. He's still my favorite.
Bret - You are the real deal, man. You're like George Strait on speed. That's who you are.
Jason - God bless you man.
Bret - You know, I'm gonna be straight with you. I dig you. And besides, Amy here, your neighbor's gonna beat me up. Your neighbor is gonna beat me up if I don't get busy with it. You rock man.
Anastasia - You were great. Thank you for stopping the Howard Dean holler. I appreciate that. And next week, sing me a love song, and make us swoon.
Jason - I can do that.
Phil - I love what you do. I love it. Is that a thing of that shirt in men's. I love it. I love it.
Bret - I'll kick his ass later.
