LeAnn: "How are ya feelin' right now?"
Jody: "Not bad. You know, I'm thankful to be here on the last show. And, that's ok. One of these two are going to do a fantastic job for ya'll. And everything is as it should be."
LeAnn: "What do you have to say to the millions of fans out there?"
Jody: "Thank you very much. I don't know what opportunity will come from this, but as long as I'm allowed, I will try to bring you the best music and entertainment that I possibly can."
LeAnn: "Anything you want to say to your fellow contestant's over there?"
Jody: "Yeah, I do. I would like to have everybody give these seven wonderful people, and not just wonderful talents, but wonderful people, a hand. And that needs to be said. I love you all, and it's been an honor standing up here with you."
LeAnn: "Give a big hand to Jody Evans."
Next we get to see clips from the episodes. We see performances of the two judges, and the introduction of all the finalists the first time. Next, we see some of the performances of the guest stars, and Jenny's running off stage, and Cledus holding the Nashville Star bucket. We hear comments from each of the three judges, plus Cledus saying how he thinks Jason has the better ass than Britany Spears. As Montgomery Gentry sings "Gone" we see the eliminations of the finalists.
Now, it's time for a performance from Jason Meadows and Erika Jo, who sing "Only In America." This was a great performance. They sound great together. Neither tries to hog the spotlight. I can see them singing this while they're out on the Nashville Star Tour.
LeAnn: "Now, make some noise for a guy that has a 50% chance of being your Nashville Star... Jason Meadows. Ok, it all comes down to a cowboy and a 18-year-old high school senior. How in the world did that happen?"
Jason: "You know what? I'm not sure. I guess we both must be pretty good. America has put us up here this far. I think that's pretty cool."
LeAnn: "Absolutely. You're not doing too bad. Well, let's go out to Cledus in the audience, to see how your family is dealing with this."
Cledus: "I'm here with Jason's wife, Amber. Amber, what's it like being married to a big ole tv star the last few months?"
Amber: "Oh, it's awesome. Been married to him for 10 years, and he's wonderful."
Cledus: "He hasn't got the big head, or got really cocky with you or anything, like laying the law down, has he? Or do you still run the show around the house?"
Amber: "Oh yeah. Of course."
Cledus: "Somehow, I knew she was going to say that. So, are you holding up to all this pressure?"
Amber: "Yep, I'm doing good."
Cledus: "Would you like to say something to the old man up there? Tell him something real quick."
Amber: "I love you so much. And I'm proud of you."
Now we look at another clip of Jason, talking about his Nashville Star experience, in his own words, "These last eight weeks, and this experience at Nashville Star, has been the hardest but, yes, the best possible time in my life. Since coming on the show, I've experienced the biggest emotional rollercoaster I've ever had to ride on. I've missed my son terribly in the last eight weeks, because me and him are just as close as me and my wife. They know I love 'em, but I have to show that love to my fans too, also to make it in this business, and that's a tough compromise. Walking down into the audience with them there, looking up with tears in their eyes and me getting to say, 'Hey, I love you,' and kiss 'em, just for a second, and then back to the fans. Everything that I've tried and tried to accomplish is fixing to all come down to whether my name is called after this competition. The goal here for me was to win the show, to win the record deal, I mean, and that's something I've strived for my whole life in this town is trying to win that record deal. And I'm going to work my tail off when this competition is over to be the next George Strait, or to be the next Garth Brooks. I want to be that big. I want to be even bigger than that."
In Jason's second performance, he sings "The Cowboy In Me."
My thoughts: This song fits him perfectly. Brett Michaels suggested this song on Episode 4, and he was right. The performance was great. Understated. Not overblown. A good final performance, if this is his final performance on the show.
LeAnn: "If you could see what I see now. There are tears in this man's eyes. I just want to know, if that was your last performance on Nashville Star, was it all worth it?"
Jason: "You better believe it. Everything I've done up here has been worth everything I've sacrificed for. I love you guys. I love you guys who voted for me. And thank you for putting me up here where I'm at. This all comes from the heart, guys. This is great."
LeAnn: "Alright, now, for the final time of your career. Let's send it down to the judges. See what they have to say."
