Next up to sing is Shy Blakeman.
In his pre-recorded piece, he says:
"Well, I'll be the first off to tell anybody that I don't have the best voice. But, people do not go to *hear* a show, they go to *see* a show. 2003 is when I got my band together, and we started hitting the road. I was hanging out with a friend, and we ended up getting mugged, and I tried to wrestle the gun away from the assailant, I guess you'd call him, and I actually got shot point blank in the face with a 38. I started recovering. I was like, you know what, I'm not wasting any more time. This is what I wanna do. And it actually made me hit it ten times harder."
The song Shy sings is "Don't It Make You Wanna Dance"
John: What up,Texas boy. What's up Lonestar. Boy, you know how to pull off what you're good at, and at least you didn't get shot in the balls.
Kenny: Dude. You just straight up do it like you mean it. That's just fabulous brother. I tell you what, I'm gonna watch this show, and I'm gonna see if you can take it from the extreme that you go on this side, to the extreme on the other side. I wanna see your entire range, man. Oh, and I know you're gonna get another chance.
Phil: You know, some of the best artists in the world aren't the best singers. I mean, you're a party. I love it. You're fun. I love it. Good job.
Anastasia: I agree with these guys. But, the verdict is still out for me. I don't know if you're a garage band, or are you a true artist.
Shy: Southern rock all the way.
Wynonna: I love your free spirit. I notice your mom isn't wearing shoes tonight, and you're not wearing shoes. So, what's the deal?
Shy: The reason I don't wear shoes on stage is because music is a very spiritual thing for me. And I'm blessed every day to do what I do for a living. And, when I step on this stage, this is holy ground for me, so I take my shoes off. And, it keeps me humble. And it's to him.
Wynonna: I like the faces you make too. I relate. Shy Blakeman, everybody.
Next up to sing is Kristin McNamara.
In her pre-recorded piece, she says:
"When people first meet me, they go.. ahh, blonde girl, California.. uhhh. But then, we hang out and we have fun. I met my current boyfriend on Southwest Airlines. He's in the Army. He's so excited for me. This is my dream. I just love music, and this is a great opportunity, so watch out for me."
The song Kristin sings is "I Wanna Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart"
Phil: Ok, the USA Network has a one yodel song a year limit, and you did it. But, I love it. It was fun. You pulled it off. You're kind of wacky. I like that.
Anastasia: Kristin, I really like you, but this is Nashville. This is your first impression that you're making, and I just don't think you made the right choice.
John: Well, I'm not going to go get drunk to that song, but on the other hand, I think you're crazy as hell, and I kinda like that.
Kristin: I just know how to have fun.
Wynonna: I think it's great that you're paying homage to Patsy Montana. I notice that you're wearing a yellow ribbon around your wrist. I've never seen that 'til tonight. What's that about?
Kristin: It's supporting the troops. America. I'm a proud citizen. No better place to be.
Wynonna: Kristin McNamara.
My thoughts: I really like Kristin's voice. She reminds me of Martina McBride. She can yodel really well too. You don't hear much of that. It's a lot of fun to watch her. Sure, you may not hear something like this on radio, but she connects with the audience and I really like her.
