USA Network

The next performer is Casey Rivers.

In his pre-recorded clip, he says:

"Last week was amazing, I mean, what it compares to is Friday night kickoff in football, 'cause I played football in high school. (They cut to Casey rehearsing.) Phil told me I need to step up my stage presence. And, that's what I'm definitely going to do this week. I'm going to go with one of my favorite artists this week. Travis Tritt with "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde." I never know what's going to happen on stage. If I plan it, that's when I'm gonna mess up."

Casey sings "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde."

Phil: Wow. I'll tell you what. You're a great singer. Good grief. You sing great, man. You seem more at home on stage tonight. You keep on stepping it up, dude, and you got a shot.
Anastasia: Yes, I think your vocal chops are definitely going to keep you around for awhile. I think you did step up your performance. You did take Phil's advice, and you stepped it up. I think you could still step it up some more and show us your personality a little bit. I want you to have fun. So, if you're having fun, I'm having fun.
Larry: Well, here's what I think. I enjoyed it. I liked how you did that little duck walk up there. And that reminded me of when I go into Home Depot, and I eat one of those hot dogs on the way in, and it goes right through me, and that's how I walk. That's the same walk that I have. And also, I ran out of underwear, and he gave me a pair of his.

Wynonna: So, are you single?
Casey: I am. I am single.
Wynonna: Well, what's it been like being a single guy, living in a hotel?
Casey: Well, there's definitely no complaints.
Wynonna: What would you like to say to all your fans out there watching.
Casey: Well, I'd like to say to the ladies, thank you for your votes.
Wynonna: What about to all the men?
Casey: They can vote too.
Wynonna: Casey Rivers everybody.

My thoughts: Casey has a really nice smoothe voice, but he can really rock out too. The only thing that looked a little bit odd was when he put his guitar on his back and started singing with just the mic in his hand, it was like he was trying to keep the guitar from sliding back to the front of his body, and looked a little ackward. I think he sang the song great though.

The next finalist to perform is Monique LeCompte.

In her pre-recorded clip, she says:

"Last week I did a ballad, and showed everybody my emotional side. And, maybe even the power singer side. (They showed John Rich telling Monique that she's not country on last week's show.) I do think I'm country. I don't put on a false twang, because I don't have an accent. But, when I do a song that's more country, like the song I chose this week... (They show Monique rehearsing.) I'm just going to show them that I am country, and that I love to have a great time, and I'm ready to take them along with me, and I hope they're ready to come."

Monique sings "Guys Do It All the Time."

Larry: Well, I tell you what. Everybody was singing. If she ain't country, I don't know what country is. I'll tell you what country is. It's when you wanna put an addition on to your single wide, and you just go and weld the van to the kitchen. That's country right there. You did good tonight. I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it. I don't have anything bad to say about it.
Phil: Well, I think you sang great tonight, too. I didn't know what to expect after last week. I think John's comments were valid. But, I think you did a really great job. You were really solid, and you had some attitude. I was pretty impressed. Good job.
Anastasia: Once again, I'm impressed with your vocals. You really have a beautiful voice. And I thank you for avoiding the Broadway drama moves. I love Liza Minnelli, thank you very much. I think you're closer to where you wanna be right now. Your performance, it was just ok.

Wynonna: I loved what you said earlier today about why you chose this song.
Monique: You want me to say it again?
Wynonna: Yeah, I do.
Monique: Well, ya know, I was going to go with that whole women's lib thing. Having the vivacious Miss Wy, and Gretchen Wilson, some kick butt women on the show. And I thought you know, it's about time that the guys learned that it's their turn to sit back and do the dishes and watch the babies while we go out and ride our Harley's in lace and have a beer and go to the ballgame, right? Maybe itch and scratch and burp a little bit.
Wynonna: Ok, on that note... Monique LeCompte, everyone.

My thoughts: I thought this was a good performance, but she sounded a lot better to me this week. I don't think this is a good song choice for her.
