Country Stars Reminisce About Johnny Caseon

“I’m not certain that any entertainment show can quite compare to The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Comedians and artists were ‘made’ on his show. When I received my first invitation to appear on his show many, many years ago, that was at a time when Country artists were rarely ever featured. Being on his show was like winning an industry award for me. When a country music artist from my era was a special guest of Johnny Carson, then…we knew we had made it. I’m extremely proud to have had the honor.” -- Crystal Gayle, Grammy Award winning entertainer.

“Johnny Carson is one of the greatest entertainers of all time in my book. There is no, nor will there be, another like him. I have to admit that I was pretty excited to just be in the studio. That was back when ‘Going Through The Big D’ was at the top of the charts and I thought…man, I have made it! I’m gonna hang with Johnny Carson! It ended up that Johnny couldn’t make it after all and Jay Leno filled in. But, he left me a note to say ‘sorry kid…’ I’m really sorry too, cause I never had the chance to meet him.” -- Mark Chesnutt, who made his first appearance on The Tonight Show in 1994, shares his story surrounding his first visit to the studio. Home Robbed While Hank Jr. and Kids Sleep

Country music entertainer Hank Williams Jr. and his children were sleeping at their Paris, Tennessee country estate last Wednesday when they were unexpectedly robbed. The suspect, Ryan Daniel Binkley, 22, stole a 60-pound safe containing more than a half-million dollars of jewelry from Hank Williams Jr., according to Sgt. Ron Eaker of the Henry County Sheriff's Department.

The alarm system that protects the 10,000-plus square-foot house was not on that night, therefore there was no forced entry. “The burglar just walked right in,” Eaker said. More...

Legendary Entertainer, Kenny Rogers, Remarks on the Passing of his friend, TV Legend Johnny Carson

“At a time when mainstream music and television considered country music backwards and unacceptable, Johnny Carson thought enough of me to have me on his show several times as a performer, and as I remember, be one of the first host replacements for him. That meant more to me than he or anyone would ever know. We became friends and I enjoyed the tennis matches at my house so very much. I, along with anyone who knew him, miss the Johnny Carson they knew. He will always be my idol, my mentor, my friend.”
