New Toby Single Explodes At Country Radio
Singer/songwriter and acclaimed country entertainer Toby Keith released the first single from his first full studio album since 2003, and after just four days of airplay the song is already making its mark.
"Honky Tonk U" debuts at No. 30 as the week's "Greatest Gainer" in Billboard, earning the distinction as Keith's second-highest single debut ever. The feat is even more remarkable consider the short week of airplay following the single's rush-shipment to radio on Jan. 26.
Recorded on Jan. 19, "Honky Tonk U" is the autobiographical tale of Keith's youth, and summers spent working in a nightclub owned by his grandmother. The song is the first release from an as-yet untitled new album, due May 17. Stay tuned for more milestones as this song continues its chart climb.
