Tim McGraw To Perform for Larry King Cardiac Foundation Benefit

Tim McGraw will be in Washington, D.C. on March 11, lending his talents to perform for the Larry King Cardiac Foundation Benefit. Larry King and wife Shawn Southwick-King will host “An Evening with Larry King and Friends.”

McGraw will perform an exclusive acoustic show with the Dancehall Doctors at the fund-raising gala for Washington dignitaries, media personalities and DC business leaders. Actor and comedian Martin Short will also appear.

Miranda Lambert Featured in ‘Nancy’ Comic Strip

Epic artist Miranda Lambert will be featured in Guy Gilchrist's popular comic strip, Nancy, on March 11. In the strip, Aunt Fritzi will be wearing a t-shirt with Lambert's name on the front, and she will be reading a book called Cadillac Ranch - a club where Lambert will perform for WWYZ-FM's annual St. Jude Radiothon on March 10.

"I wanted to do something to say 'thank you' to Miranda for coming up here and supporting St. Jude," said Gilchrist, who has promoted numerous country artists in Nancy.

Gilchrist will bring 10 copies of the strip, which he and Lambert will autograph and auction off for St. Jude.

Sawyer Brown Rocks Tootsies Orchid Lounge

They hadn't played a club that small since before "Star Search" all those years ago, but Sawyer Brown proved on Tuesday night, you can take the boys out of the honky tonk, but you can never quite get the honky tonk out of the boys. Mark Miller and Company rocked the capacity crowd at Tootsies Orchid Lounge in Nashville on Tuesday night. The 2005 ACM Award Nominees are announced

Nominations have been announced for the 40th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. Winners will receive their awards during a star-studded event to be broadcast LIVE from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The ceremony, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging talent, will be broadcast on Tuesday, May 17th, 2005 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on CBS Television Network. Supergroup Diamond Rio Honored with 2 ACM Nominations and 2005 CRB Humanitarian Award

Arista Nashville supergroup Diamond Rio enjoyed multiple honors this morning, scoring two nominations for the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards and a surprise presentation as the band was named the 2005 Country Radio Broadcasters Artist Humanitarian of the Year. On hand to perform the National Anthem at the official opening session of this year's Country Radio Seminar, the group was happily taken aback by the unexpected award, presented by last year's winner, Brad Paisley.

Final nominations for the 40th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were also announced from Nashville on Thursday morning, revealing additional exciting news as Diamond Rio garnered nominations for Top Vocal Group and also, coincidentally, for the ACM/Home Depot Humanitarian Award. More...

Kenny Chesney Takes 5 Academy of Country Music Noms CMA Entertainer of the Year Is Up for ACM Entertainer, Album, Male & 2 Vocal Events

He's the reigning Country Music Association Entertainer and Album of the Year winner -- and he'll have the opportunity to repeat those titles when the Academy of Country Music stages their 40th Awards show live from Manadalay Bay in Las Vegas May17th. Chesney picked up a total of 5 nominations this morning for Entertainer, Top Male and Album for When The Sun Goes Down, along with a pair of Vocal Event nominations for his duet with Uncle Kracker on the title-track of his triple platinum plus release and "Hey Good Lookin'," with Jimmy Buffett and George Strait, Clint Black, Toby Keith and Alan Jackson.
