David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers shared some thoughts on the death of Chris LeDoux

"Howard and I were very saddened to hear about Chris' death. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family. Not only was he a great singer but he was also a very genuine person. We got a kick out of the fact that he sometimes performed 'Redneck Girl' during his shows. We were all in the studio recently to work on a song for Angels & Outlaws. We spent most of the time swapping stories about ranching and cattle."

Dolly To Broadway?

Nashville’s Tennessean reports Dolly Parton is planning a theater adaptation of her hit film 9 to 5. Parton is reportedly writing new songs for the musical, while screenplay co-writer Patricia Resnick will write the play’s book. The report says Parton will not appear on stage.

Charlie Daniels Band on This Week’s ‘Nashville Star’

The Charlie Daniels Band will appear on USA Network’s Nashville Star on March 15. The show airs live from the BellSouth Acuff Theatre in Nashville, TN.

Shania’s 'Larry King Live' Episode Postponed

Shania Twain’s episode of Larry King Live on CNN that was supposed to air tonight has been postponed. The show has been delayed due to the Atlanta courthouse shootings.

Craig Morgan Celebrates First #1 Song

Broken Bow Recording artist Craig Morgan is currently celebrating his first #1 song with “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” which hit #1 on both the Billboard and R&R country singles charts this week. Not only is this the first #1 for Craig Morgan, but it is also the first # 1 for Broken Bow Records, producer Phil O’Donnell and the songwriters of “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” Adam Dorsey and Mark Narmore.

“That’s What I Love About Sunday” is the lead single from Craig’s second full length album for Broken Bow Records, My Kind Of Livin’, released on March 8th.

Singer-Songwriter Phil Vassar Named Grand Marshal For NASCAR World Financial Group 200

2000 NASCAR Cup Champion Bobby Labonte will kick off the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado All Star program behind the wheel of the Chevrolet ³Nashville² All Star Phil Vassar Silverado on March 18 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The World Financial Group 200 will be Labonte¹s fourth NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) start and his third as the driver of the Morgan-Dollar Motorsports fielded No. 47 Silverado.

Country music star Phil Vassar, whose latest Arista Nashville album ³Shaken Not Stirred² will highlight the paint scheme of the No. 47 Silverado, has been named the Grand Marshal of the race and will kick off event number three of the 2005 NCTS season with his rendition our ³National Anthem.² In addition, Vassar will serve as the honorary starter of the race waving the green flag as the 36-truck field thunders out of turn four. Country Legend Hank Cochran Recovering From By-Pass Surgery

Hank Cochran, legendary songwriter and entertainer, is recovering from a successful triple by-pass surgery at a Nashville hospital.

Cochran, renowned for over four decades of hits (" I Fall To Pieces," "She's Got You," "The Chair," etc.) is resting comfortably from this morning's operation.

George Canyon Dates Include Ontario Run With Carolyn Dawn Johnson

George Canyon has a busy spring and summer ahead of him, including brand new tour dates in Ontario with Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Aaron Lines. The mini-tour kicks off on Thursday May 5th in Kitchener, ON at Centre in the Square (tickets on sale at the Centre in the Square Box Office), then hits Hamilton on Friday May 6th at Hamilton Place (tickets on sale through Ticketmaster or the Copps Coliseum Box Office) with a third date in London on Saturday May 7th at the John Labatt Centre's RBC Theatre (tickets on sale through Ticketmaster or The John Labatt Centre Box Office). On Monday, May 9th George will be in Ottawa with Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Emerson Drive at The National Arts Centre's Southern Hall (tickets on sale through Ticketmaster) as part of Alberta Scene.
