Dierks Bentley, Lonestar, The Warren Brothers, Ira Dean of Trick Pony, Mark Wills, Shelly Fairchild, Trent Willmon & James Otto Will Join Montgomery Gentry on Ride. Proceeds to Benefit Newly Created Academy of Country Music Charitable Foundation

Today the Academy of Country Music announced its 2nd Annual Academy of Country Music Celebrity Motorcycle Ride, a star-studded daylong trek through the Nevada desert that will benefit the newly established Academy of Country Music Charitable Foundation, an in-house organization designed to raise support, and embrace programs dedicated to the awareness, growth, and education of music.

As part of the festivities surrounding the 40th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, the Academy will host this scenic, half-day excursion beginning at the world's largest Harley-Davidson dealership, Las Vegas Harley-Davidson. The 2nd Annual Academy of Country Music Celebrity Motorcycle Ride will take place on Sunday, May 15th, 2005. Urban, who is nominated for four ACM awards including Single Record of the Year (“Days Go By”), Album of the Year (Be Here), Top Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year, kicked off his three-show run at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on March 17th. All three shows are sold out.

Dierks Bentley Certified Platinum!

March 16, 2005 - Capitol Records Nashville artist Dierks Bentley's self-titled debut album was just certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), signifying sales of 1,000,000 albums.

Hitting the million-selling mark would usually merit commemoration but with plans underway for the release of his anticipated follow-up album, Modern Day Drifter on May 10, Dierks says there's little time for much celebration. “I'll celebrate like I have for all the other career milestones. ‘Have a couple of beers on the way to the next gig!" laughs the perpetually touring singer/songwriter who has been off the road a total of only three weeks this year. Mark Chesnutt’s Down with The Contender

Mark Chesnutt will be the first to admit that he doesn’t spend any time keeping up with reality TV, but you can bet he’ll be tuning into NBC-TV’s newest television drama, The Contender. The reason? Chesnutt has a personal friend in the competition, Brent Cooper.

“Brent and I met in Nashville about five years ago at a downtown club called the Mix Factory. The Factory was hosting a fight and we bumped into each other there. We’ve been friends ever since.. I’ve knick-named him ‘Paco.’ ” says Chesnutt. More...
