First Round of ACM Artists Announced

Today the Academy of Country Music is announcing that country music superstars Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts and George Strait will perform as part of the 40TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. The ceremony, which honors country music's top talent as well as the industry's hottest emerging talent, will be broadcast LIVE from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 17th, 2005 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.

Three-time Academy of Country Music Awards Top Male Vocalist Alan Jackson repeats as a Top Male Vocalist nominee this year in addition to his nomination for Vocal Event of the Year ("Hey Good Lookin'"). Toby Keith has won Entertainer of the Year honors for the past two years, and is nominated for that same award again this year. He is also nominated for Top Male Vocalist, Song of the Year ("American Soldier"), and Vocal Event of the Year ("Hey Good Lookin'"). Keith will perform via satellite from his USO tour overseas. Victor Sanz Video "Love Won¹t Let Me" Added to GAC

WCI recording artist Victor Sanz¹s new video for "Love Won¹t Let Me" has just been added to the GAC play list. The single, off Victor¹s sophomore release Hey Country, was co-written by Steve Robson and legendary songwriter Jeffrey Steele.

Danni O¹Neill Breaks Music Row Top 40 For Second Time

GMV recording artist Danni O¹ Neill has broken the Top 40 on the Music Row chart again. Her newest single "What is Me" is the second release off her debut album Picture Perfect to make it onto the Top 40.

"What Is Me" is a very high quality production in the new country realm," CountryReviews wrote. "Danni has a strong emotive voice, very competitive with a lot of the new major label artists out there." More...

Teresa Wade Continues Promotion Of Debut Album

These few past months, Teresa Wade has been on an extensive radio tour, visiting over 50 stations in four states to help promote her current single, "I¹m All Over That." The song is the first single released off of her debut album, scheduled to hit streets in May on Klimbing Kudzu Records.

The Georgia-native was asked back to her home state recently to help kick off the Aaron¹s 312 ­ NASCAR Busch Series Race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. This was Teresa¹s second appearance at the track, having sung "Georgia on My Mind" a few years back during pre-race activities. More...

Sony Adds Jace Everett To Epic Roster

Sony Music Nashville President John Grady has announces singer/songwriter Jace Everett has joined the Epic Records Nashville artist roster.

Everett is currently in the studio with producers Mark Wright and Greg Droman. His self-titled Epic Records debut will release later this year.

"Jace Everett has everything," said Grady. "He's a great songwriter, a great musician, a great singer and performer and he pushes the envelope in all of those areas. Jace is brave enough to be absolutely unique with his music. If the music is not unique and everybody is not willing to take chances, then it is not worth doing at all. To put it simply, Jace Everett is ready to be an artist."

Craig Morgan Holds Top Spot For Second Week

Broken Bow Recording artist Craig Morgan holds the number one spot on the Billboard and R&R country singles charts for the second week in a row with “That’s What I Love About Sunday.”

According to Wade Jessen, Billboard’s director of country charts, this is the first independent single to remain at number one for more than one week since “Heaven’s Just A Sin Away” by The Kendalls in October 1977 on Ovation Records. More...

Jewell Goes on Media Blitz for Album Release

April 26 marks the release of Buddy Jewell's sophomore album, Times Like These, and the month will be a busy one for Jewell. On April 1, fans in Nashville can see Jewell perform at WDKF's Birthday Bash. He will be join artists including label mates Van Zant, Shooter Jennings, Sugarland and Trick Pony at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.

On April 3, Jewell will head to Bristol, Tennessee, to perform the National Anthem at the Food City 500 Nextel Cup Race airing on FOX. On April 5, he will make a special guest appearance on the third season of USA Network's Nashville Star. He will perform his hot new single, "If She Were Any Other Woman."
