Martina McBride Scores CMT Nod

CMT has announced the nominees for this year’s fan voted awards and Martina McBride received nods for Female Video of the Year for “How Far” and Most Inspiring Video for “God’s Will” from McBride’s platinum-selling self-titled disc. These nominations add to a long list of recent accolades. In 2004, McBride rewarded with her fourth overall, CMA Female Vocalist of the Year award. McBride also found herself the recipient of her third Top Female Vocalist honor from the Academy of Country Music as well as their Home Depot Humanitarian of the Year award. Us Army Gets All-Star Salute From Country Music Artists At The Historic Ryman Auditorium

2005 marks the 230th birthday of The United States Army. Since its birth on 14 June 1775-over a year before the Declaration of Independence was instituted-the United States Army has played a vital role in the growth and development of our nation. Soldiers have fought more than 10 wars, from the American Revolution through the Cold War, the Gulf War, to the current Global War on Terrorism. This 230th birthday celebration is recognition of The Army’s history, traditions, and service to the Nation.

In a special salute to the United States Army, country music entertainers extended their efforts to join the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs Bruce Zielsdorf and 77th Regional Readiness Command Sgt. Sony Music Nashville Becomes First Country Label To Score Three #1 Albums By Debut Artists

With today's #1 debut on the Country chart of Miranda Lambert's first album, "Kerosene," Sony Music Nashville has claimed the title as the only country record label in history to have three debut albums by new artists to enter the Country album chart in the coveted #1 spot.

Since taking over the reins of Sony Music Nashville in 2003, President John Grady and his team have had an impressive string of new artists debut at #1 on the Country chart, including Buddy Jewell in 2003, Gretchen Wilson in 2004 and, most recently, Miranda Lambert. More...

Miranda Lambert Debuts At Number One!!

Epic recording artist, Miranda Lambert has the Number One Country Record in the Nation. With first week sales of 40,390 for Kerosene, Miranda Lambert has done what only five other country artists in the history of Soundscan have ever done; earned a Number One country chart debut on their very first release. She joins an elite club consisting of Wynonna (1992), Billy Ray Cyrus (1992), LeAnn Rimes (1996), Buddy Jewell (2003) and Gretchen Wilson (2004). Sony Nashville, Miranda's parent record label, has released the last three new acts to debut at number-one. No other music company has scored a Country number-one debut on a first album since 1996. Miranda's Kerosene sits at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 as well.

"When my manager called with the news I was driving home from the gym and I had to tell him to hang on because my truck had just died," laughs Miranda. "I had to pull over to the side of the road - I'd like to say it was just because of the shock I was feeling, but my truck really wouldn't start. CMT To Debut New Keith Urban Video on Television

Keith Urban's video for his new single "Making Memories Of Us," from his platinum album Be Here, will make its world broadcast premiere this week on CMT's "Top 20 Countdown" on March 24 at 6 p.m. EST/PT. The video will then enter into the music channel's coveted "Hot Shot" video rotation after the broadcast premiere.

"Making Memories of Us" was shot on a bare bones soundstage in Hollywood by Chris Hicky, who has shot footage for previous Urban videos including "You'll Think of Me" and "Days Go By," as well as, studio footage during the recording of Urban's latest album Be Here. The black and white video captures the straightforward honesty of the song, written by Rodney Crowell. More...

Trace Adkins Cooks Up Partnership With Waffle House

Trace Adkins will go from the stage to the grill as he "cooks it up for his fans" at Waffle House restaurants this summer as part of a partnership with the national 24-hour restaurant chain.

Adkins will meet winners of local radio contests at a Waffle House restaurant the day of his concert in select cities, share one of his favorite meals and maybe flip an egg or two. In addition, one fan at each stop will win an authentic Waffle House jukebox filled with country favorites and unique Waffle House songs. More...
