Without fanfare from the press or public, he said, the country music superstar has been quietly doing her part to pay tribute to America's troops.
"She does things she doesn't want to talk about publicly," said Pace, the vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. "When the troops come home to Fort Campbell, Ky., in the middle of the night, she's there to say, 'Thanks.'" More...
Country Music Industry to Invade Sin City for Festivities Surrounding the 39th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards
As the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS hits Las Vegas for the second straight year, things will be going a little bit country on the famed Strip in the week leading up to the big show.
Kicking off the festivities on Monday morning will be the Annual Academy of Country Music Celebrity Golf Classic. This sold-out event will be held at the Canyon Gate Country Club in Las Vegas and will feature some of country music's biggest stars hitting the links. Brad Paisley to Perform in Distinguished Line-Up for PBS' National Memorial Day Concert 2004
Award-winning Arista Nashville recording artist Brad Paisley joins a host of acclaimed performers from throughout the world of entertainment as PBS airs the 2004 edition of its top-rated annual special, the National Memorial Day Concert.
