Travis Tritt Blitzes Media To Tell His Honky Tonk History

Multi-platinum country singer, songwriter, performer and musician Travis Tritt is set to release the most aggressive album of his career, and he's setting up the release with an equally aggressive schedule of media appearances.

First up is a CNN feed to its affiliates around the world airing tonight, Aug. 13. Also tonight, CMT Insider finds Travis discussing his timely political duet with John Mellencamp on the song "What Say You." The cut appears on Tritt's My Honky Tonk History, his ninth album and third for Columbia, due in stores Aug. 17. More...

Make sure to look for Billy Currington in the October issue of Cowboys & Indians. Of course you can sill hear the current single from the avid hunter, "I Got A Feelin,'" on the radio.

Catch Julie Roberts' Rising Star

Look for Julie Roberts on the grocery stores newsstands now.

Julie is featured in Star Magazine's "Catch A Rising Star." And don't forget, Julie will take part in Jerry Lewis' MDA Labor Day telethon. Her performance portion airs September 6th. If you live in the Nashville area, and can't wait til Labor Day to see Julie, turn on Channel 2.

Julie is starring in the "Titans on 2" campaign, in support of the Tennessee Titans. Her current single from her self-titled debut album, "Break Down Here," continues to move up the charts.

Toby Keith's Career High

Toby Keith's "Stays In Mexico" marks a career high-this is the biggest chart debut ever for Toby, who lands at #27 this week in both charts! Toby just finished filming the video for the single. It World Premiere's August 19th on CMT and August 17th on AOL First View. If you can't wait that long to catch Toby on the TV, don't miss CMT Insider August 6th-Katie Cook will go behind the scenes of the Big Throwdown Tour and talk with Toby about his upcoming GREATEST HITS disc. The new album is scheduled for scheduled for release on November 9.

Gary Allan is spending much of his time these days on the road. Don't miss the chance to see Gary as he joins Rascal Flatts on part of their "Here's To You" Tour, starting this fall. You can find Gary on the road with them during a limited number of dates.

Lee Ann Womack's Extreme Makeover

Be sure to set your Tivo to catch Lee Ann Womack on the October 17th edition of ABC's Extreme Home Makeover. She will be on hand to surprise an unsuspecting family on the show.

Lee Ann recently teamed up with fellow Texan, Mark Chesnutt, for his upcoming release, SAVIN' THE HONKY TONK. Lee Ann contributed back-ground vocals for the cover of Keith Whitley's 1987 hit, "Would These Arms Be In Your Way," which you can hear on CMT's Listening Party, starting August 20th. Watch out for a special appearance by Lee Ann at the Republican National Convention August 30th thru September 2nd in New York City.

Beautiful Darryl

It's official! After a long wait, Darryl Worley is finally back on the radio and moving up with his new single "Awful, Beautiful Life". It is the first release from his upcoming album entitled DARRYL WORLEY, set for release November 2nd.

You can catch Darryl as he performs at the Republican National Convention later this month in New York City.

Third daughter this Winter for Trace Adkins

Trace Adkins announced that he and wife, Rhonda, are expecting a new baby girl, due this winter. This will be the couple's third daughter and Adkins' fifth. He has two teenage daughters from a previous marriage.

JESSI ALEXANDER:
When asked "Who's the best act that we don't know about yet?," USA Today's Brian Mansfield listed Columbia Records newcomer Jessi Alexander among only three others. Catch this much talked about new artist on the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday, August 21.

BRAD COTTER:
Epic Records artist Brad Cotter was invited to perform on the "Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon" over Labor Day Weekend. He joins a long list of stage, screen, music and comedy stars including Celine Dion, Kimberley Locke, Billy Crystal and Dr. Phil, among many others. Brad will perform his first single, "I Meant To," on Monday morning, September 6. Of the experience, Brad says, "I am overwhelmed by the invitation to participate in the telethon. Like many others, I have watched the telethon for years; since I was a child.
