JESSI ALEXANDER:
Columbia artist Jessi Alexander will join The Longplayers on September 16th at Nashville's 12th & Porter as the star studded lineup pays tribute to the eponymous 1969 album from The Band. Other guests that night include Beth Neilsen Chapman, Pat McLaughlin, Jim Photoglo, Danny Flowers and many others. Jessi will sing "Whispering Pines," a song she says "really shook me and captured my imagination." "This entire album sets the bar for the kind of songwriter and artist that I strive to be," says Jessi. "I am just excited that for one night, I get to pretend I'm in The Band!" The NY Times called Jessi's debut album, Honeysuckle Sweet, which releases January 25, a "promising first album."

SHELLY FAIRCHILD:
Columbia Records newcomer Shelly Fairchild has joined the 2004 Rock the Vote Tour kicking off Saturday, September 11 at Kent University in Ohio. She's the only country artist on the tour which includes Future Leaders of the World, Tyler Hilton, Ben Jelen, Wylde Bunch and Dan Dyer. The tour will make 21 stops over the course of five weeks playing on college campuses across the country as a call for youth voter registration. The last tour date is on October 15 at the University of Wisconsin. Shelly's debut video "You Don't Lie Here Anymore" can be seen on CMT, GAC and on MSN.com. The site reads "Check your rising-star meter, as Shelly is going to be off-the-charts!" "You Don't Lie Here Anymore" goes for adds on September 27.

MIRANDA LAMBERT:
Epic newcomer Miranda Lambert, who gained national attention as one of the three finalists on USA Network's "Nashville Star" talent competition show last year, lensed her first music video for her debut single "Me And Charlie Talking" in Los Angeles over the weekend. Directed by Trey Fanjoy and produced by Mark Kaubfeld, the clip was shot in the famed studio The Village where such greats as Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, The Stones and others have recorded. Part of Miranda's performance was shot in a sound booth built specifically for Stevie Nicks, Ringo Starr is currently in the same studio working on his next album but was not on site yesterday.

Miranda wrote or co-wrote 10 of the 11 cuts - including the first single - on her debut album Kerosene, which will hit stores in January.

McEntire To Pay Tribute To Ray Charles

Reba McEntire has been added to the list of performers for a tribute concert to Ray Charles October 8th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The concert will be taped for an upcoming CBS special.

Still gaining adds at radio, Reba McEntire's latest single "He Gets That From Me" moves up from 39 to 37 on Billboard and 37 to 38 on R&R. With a video due out next month, look for this song to make a push for a record topping mark of 54 top ten hits on Billboard. Whirlpool is once again offering the opportunity to hear Reba live, this time in the form of a free Reba LIVE sampler available for a limited time at Best Buy for customers who buy any Reba CD. The fourth season of REBA debuts this Friday, September 17, at 9/8c.

Shania Twain Freshens Up A Room

Procter & Gamble recently announced a marketing partnership with Shania Twain to promote Scentstories by Febreze. Scentstories disc just like you'd choose and play your favorite CD. Twain’s deal with Procter & Gamble includes heavy involvement in the musically-themed marketing campaign, with her Grammy-nominated hit "Forever and For Always" featured in the Scentstories television ads, which broke on August 30. Twain also stars in the radio and print ads.
