Jo Dee Messina Saves the Day at the Western Washington Fair
Country superstar, Jo Dee Messina, saved the day at the Western Washington Fair in Puyallup, Washington Wednesday night, Sept. 15, when she filled in on a moments notice for her friend, Kenny Rogers, who cancelled at the last minute due to minor medical complications. Jo Dee last performed at the Fair in 2001.
Jo Dee and her band, with only 24 hours notice, headed out to Washington state from Nashville. Rave reviews are pouring in about Jo Dees enthusiastic, high energy performance during which she interacted with the audience, brought kids up on stage and gave the crowd a special treat a taste of whats to come from her new studio album to be released on Curb Records sometime early 2005.
Blake Shelton Escapes Injury
Blake Shelton was hunting in Montana earlier this week, taking some time to unwind before his third Warner Bros. release reaches fans. On his way from Montana to his show in Louisville on Wednesday, Shelton boarded a flight in Salt Lake City. Once in the air, the plane caught fire and had to turn back to the airport. Once safely at the gate all passengers got off the plane unharmed and boarded a later flight to Atlanta.
Shelton's single "Some Beach" is climbing the charts and shows no signs of slowing down. Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill will be in stores on October 26th and Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill: A Video Collection comes out on October 12.
Terri Clark - Golden Girl
In a big week for Terri Clark, Clark broke the record she shared with k.d. lang for most Canadian Country Music Association fan-voted Entertainer of the Year awards, then she also won her first Female Artist of the Year Award since 1998. Now Clarks Greatest Hits 1994-2004 was certified gold in Canada in just six weeks. "This is hands down the fastest gold record I've ever had back home," Clark said. "And it's a funny thing, because all my albums up there are gold or platinum, so I know a lot of the fans already have this music.
Clarks "Girls Lie, Too" takes a leap from #5 to #1 on Billboard's Country Singles chart, making her the only woman in the past three years to enjoy two top singles. Her "I Just Wanna Be Mad" topped Radio & Records' Country Radio Chart in winter of 2003.

SHELLY FAIRCHILD:
WindowsMedia is showing the love to Columbia Records newcomer Shelly
Fairchild. She's the only music artist currently being prominently
featured on their homepage. The site reads "Check your rising-star meter, as Shelly is going to be off-the-charts!" The dot-com site isn't the only one taking notice of this fiery new singer/songwriter, Travis Tritt says, "After watching Shelly Fairchild perform, I was overwhelmed by her voice and her ability to win over a live audience. After listening to her CD, I am overwhelmed by her voice yet again, as well as her songwriting capabilities. Keep your eye on this girl, she's going places." Shelly is performing in New York tonight and we're expecting some high-profile artists to join her onstage.
MIRANDA LAMBERT:
Epic newcomer Miranda Lambert, who's debut single "Me And Charley Talkin'" just hit the airwaves, left her home state following The Wolf's Free For All Concert to jet to New York for performances for Sony Distribution brass. The trip was Miranda's first in the Big Apple, and she wasted no time in trying famous New York pizza, shopping in SoHo, riding the subway and people watching in Central Park. Incidentally, The Wolf was the first station to add Miranda's single, but PD Paul Williams assures us it wasn't because his young son is named Charley.
