Sara Evans hits Top Spot with "Suds in the Bucket"

2004 CMA Female Vocalist nominee and multi-platinum star Sara Evans certainly has plenty to celebrate this week with a chart-topping hit and a brand new baby arriving within a few days of each other. Sara's fun-filled "Suds In The Bucket" reaches the top spot on both the Billboard and R&R charts this week, while the video for the tune was also Number One on CMT, (marking back-to-back chart-topping videos for Sara, who also had a Number One clip with "Perfect.") The song, from her Gold album Restless, is the sixth Top 5 hit for Evans, and has proven to be one of her most popular with fans.

Sara will have to hold off celebrating with any "suds" of her own for a bit, though, since she'll be busy this week delivering her third child in a Nashville hospital. The new baby will join big brother Avery and big sis Olivia.

JESSI ALEXANDER:
Jessi Alexander traveled to Saginaw Michigan this weekend to help support St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in her childhood home of Memphis, TN. She joined Mark Chestnutt for a charity benefit, sponsored by a local radio station 94.5 The Moose, in which all proceeds went to St. Judes, to help in the fight against childhood cancer. Jessi was able to meet some of the children during a visit to the hospital last year, and was inspired by their positive attitudes despite their suffering. She knows and understands this suffering, because her own mother lost the battle to cancer. "Having lost my mom to cancer, I realize the importance of disease research and treatment, and want to do whatever I can for these kids. Everyone deserves a chance to live a full life." BRAD COTTER:
When Sony Recording Artist Brad Cotter tours the south this October, he will be doing it with more than a song in his heart. This native of Opelika, Alabama, turned Nashville Star sensation will be on a mission. In each of the eight cities on his tour schedule for the month, Cotter will join with local American Red Cross workers and volunteers to raise money for the American Red Cross disaster relief operations that provide for the urgent needs of disaster victims, such as emergency food, water, shelter and other basic necessities.

"You hear on the news that the Red Cross needs help, and you think to yourself 'I should do that,' but then other things get in the way and you assume it's a need someone else will fill," said Cotter. "But this time I want to be the 'someone' that helps. This is one of those things I don't want to look back on and say 'I meant to'."

Cotter is utilizing his current national tour to raise awareness and funds by encouraging his fans to contribute and his peers to join in to raise money for Red Cross disaster relief. News on Shelly Fairchild, Buddy Jewell, and other Sony acts
