Carolyn Dawn Johnson & Grand Ole Opry Live Host Nan Kelley

Grand Ole Opry Live And Arista Nashville’s Carolyn Dawn Johnson Kick Off The Annual Music Row Challenge With “Toys For Tots Night At The Opry”

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Organization along with The Grand Ole Opry kicked off its Annual Music Row Challenge with “Toys for Tots Night at the Opry” on Saturday, October 30, 2004 with portions of the proceeds donated to the charity. This is the second Music Row Challenge, with last year’s big winner being BMG/RCA Label Group.

To jump-start the challenge, Arista Nashville’s Carolyn Dawn Johnson interviewed with GAC Opry Host Nan Kelley and proclaimed her record label intends to “defend their title” and keep the trophy for the 2004 season. Kelley responded to the challenge and donated the first $100.00 worth of toys for this year’s challenge. More...

McGraw Returns To NBC For Second Television Special

On the heels of his box office success with "Friday Night Lights" and Billboard chart topping CD, Live Like You Were Dying, Tim McGraw returns to NBC for his second music special, "Tim McGraw: Here and Now," which will air November 24 at 8 p.m. ET.

McGraw traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin for two concert performances, which included a duet with his wife Faith Hill and a special appearance by Green Bay Packers' quarterback Brett Farve. Also included in the special is a duet with Nelly of their hit single, "Over and Over."

Chesney To Tour With Gretchen Wilson, Uncle Kracker and Pat Green

For the 2005 “Somewhere In The Sun Tour,” Kenny Chesney will be doing the split-level approach again this year. Gretchen Wilson will have the middle slot for the entire tour. Fellow CMA Vocal Event of the Year nominee Uncle Kracker will do the first half of the year and triple Grammy nominee and Texas icon Pat Green will finish off the year. More...

Rustie Blue to Appear on Midnight Jamboree

Rustie Blue (Center Stage Productions) can be heard around the world on Saturday, Nov. 20. She will perform her duet, "Chip Chip," with Whisperin' Bill Anderson on the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree, at the Texas Troubadour Theatre in Music Valley Village in Nashville, TN (accross from Opryland) at midnight. Connie Smith and Marty Stuart To Celebrate the Season at Nation’s Official Christmas Tree Lighting

Country Music Stars Connie Smith and Marty Stuart will participate in our nation’s formal celebration of the holiday season appearing at The 2004 Christmas Pageant of Peace. To kick off the pageant festivities, Smith and Stuart will attend and perform at The Christmas Pageant of Peace Opening Ceremonies and Gala Event scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, December 1 with a special reception beginning at 7:00PM followed by dinner at 8:00PM. The Christmas Pageant of Peace Gala event will take place at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel located on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. Willard Scott will act as Master of Ceremonies in appropriate attire, dressed as Santa Clause. Marty Stuart (accompanied by the Fabulous Superlatives) and his lovely wife Connie Smith will entertain guests. Phil Vassar Holds The Top Spot Two Weeks Consecutive

Singer-Songwriter Phil Vassar's "In A Real Love," stays at the top of the charts this week for a second week in a row. From his latest Arista Nashville album, "Shaken Not Stirred," the single has claimed the #1 position again this week on both Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks and Radio & Records' Country National Airplay charts. Co-written by Vassar and Craig Wiseman, this is the second single the two have written together that has hit #1. In a review of the album the Associated Press said, "...the record has more sophisticated chord changes than what's currently being played on country radio, which leans towards a more traditional, guitar-based sound. Add to that Vassar's [Billy] Joel-inspired tinkling, and it's easy to see why its songs, such as the hit single 'In A Real Love,' stand out." More...
