Trace Adkins To Sing National Anthem At Ford 400 Nascar Nextel Cup Series

On Sunday, November 21, Capitol Records Nashville recording artist Trace Adkins will perform in front of a sell-out crowd at Homestead-Miami Speedway along with millions watching on national television, as he is set to sing the National Anthem prior to the Ford 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series season-finale.

"I'm really excited about being at the last NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Race of the year, said Adkins, himself a fan of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup racing. "The points are down to the wire and it could be anybody's win, so this is going to be one incredibly competitive race!" More...

CMA Awards Show Ranks In Top Ten For The Week

CBS has released its ratings for the week ending November 14. The rankings show The 38th Annual CMA Awards was ranked in 7th place for the week.

The 38th Annual CMA Awards, posted an 11.5/18 with 18.46m viewers, 7.3/17 in adults 25-54, 5.9/15 in adults 18-49 and 4.3/12 in adults 18-34. CBS was first in households, viewers and key demos from 8-11 p.m. CBS won every half-hour in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. CBS Research estimates over 37 million viewers watched all or part of the ceremony.

Randy Travis on ABC's 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition'

Country superstar Randy Travis joined forces with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to help the Elcano family get a brand new Bakersfield home and raise $60,000 for the kid's college funds. The show will air on November 21 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Travis' new CD, Passing Through, was released on November 9. The new single is "Four Walls."

Chely Wright Hits Fox News

Chely Wright’s “Bumper of My SUV,” is Wright’s highest debuting single in her 10-year career, entering the R&R charts at #39.

Wright has been invited to appear on the Hannity & Colmes, where she will perform her single, on November 18 in the NYC studios of Fox News Channel. Prior to New York, Wright will be in Washington, DC to perform at a Florida Congressional Delegation Hurricane Relief Benefit. While in DC, Wright appear on the Tony Snow Show on the Fox News Radio Network.

Charlie Daniels Packs ‘em In At Wal-Mart

Charlie Daniels’ phenomenal career has spanned over forty years, during which he has performed in front of millions of people and sold millions of records. Still, he deemed his recent CD signings at the Wal-Mart stores in Valley and Greenville, AL, sponsored by Dr Pepper, as “the best, most pleasant in-store appearances I’ve done.”

“It’s wonderful to see that this far into my career, there are still people who relate to the music and want to come out and say hello and shake my hand,” Daniels continued. “Plus, I got to drink all the Diet Dr Pepper I wanted.” More...

Ricky Skaggs climbs to #1 on the Billboard bluegrass chart

Ricky Skaggs has ascended to the top of the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums sales chart with his new CD, Brand New Strings. The recently released collection of contemporary songs sits at #1, making Skaggs the first male artist to attain the top position on the chart. Skaggs achievement will appear in the November 20, 2004 edition of Billboard Magazine.

Skaggs is riding high after a busy season of touring with his accomplished band, Kentucky Thunder, which won its sixth Instrumental Band of the Year honor from the International Bluegrass Music Association in October. Skaggs and the band are playing several holiday shows joined by The Whites (Buck, Cheryl, and Sharon, his father-in-law, sister-in-law, and wife, respectively) and second generation 'grassers Luke and Molly Skaggs and Rachel White. Adding a super-tough element to its post-season fantasy league, Ford has enlisted country music maverick Toby Keith as honorary chair of its Built Ford Tough Fantasy Football World Championship.

For his first order of business as honorary chair, Keith will compete as a celebrity owner in the largest post-season league in fantasy football history. Playing against champions of seven major fantasy leagues and two "at large" sweepstakes winners, Keith faces considerable competition from around the world.
