Dolly Parton To Present Entertainer Of The Year Award at CMAs

"Country Music's Biggest Night,” takes place November 9 when "The 38th Annual CMA Awards" airs live at 8 p.m. EST on CBS from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. "When you look at the list of performers and presenters appearing on this year's CMA Awards, there isn't a major Country star missing from the list," said CMA Executive Director Ed Benson. "This is destined to be an extraordinary event not to be missed by anyone who loves Country Music."

Presenting the night's top honor, Entertainer of the Year, will be Dolly Parton, who won the Award in 1978. She received her 39th career CMA Nomination in 2004 for Musical Event of the Year for her performance with Norah Jones on "Creepin' In." More...

It’s In the Cards for Tracy Byrd

Tracy Byrd is set to play poker at the Longbranch Saloon in Raleigh, North Carolina for WQDR’s contest. The WQDR Morning team of Mike (Mad Dog) and Heather, created a contest where five winners get the chance to play a friendly game of poker with Byrd before his show.

Byrd will make his way into Nashville for the CMA festivities on Monday afternoon after a 19-hour bus ride from his Sunday night show in Connecticut at the Mohegan Casino. That night, he will attend the BMI Country Awards, where he will support a few of his songwriting buddies as they win awards for his hits with “The Drinkin’ Bone” and “The Truth About Men.”

Look for a brand new video from Byrd for his newest single, “Revenge Of A Middle-Aged Woman.” The song is the first single from his new album, a Greatest Hits Collection, that will be released on February 8, 2005. He is also featured in an “outdoor” feature in the December issue of Y’all magazine.

John Conlee To Serve As Co-Grand Marshall Of Nashville’s Veterans Day Parade

Grand Ole Opry Member and former CMA Vocalist of the Year John Conlee, whose son is currently in Marine boot camp at Parris Island, SC, will serve as co-grand marshall of Nashville’s Veterans Day Parade, Thursday, November 11. The theme of Nashville’s 2004 Regional City Veterans Day Parade is to “Honor All Those Who Served.” The parade is set to commence at 11:00 AM CST, proceeding east on Broadway from the I-40 bridge (South Loop) to 3rd Avenue in downtown Nashville, TN. Sharing in grand marshall duties will be Marine Brigadier General Mary Ann Krusa-Dossin, Director of Marine Corps Public Affairs. More...

For years, fans have known Toby Keith can sing, play and kick a-ss on the concert stage. Now, the country superstar is ready to serve up something more than music as he breaks ground on I Love This Bar & Grill, a new 12,000-square-foot 600-seat restaurant/music hall in his hometown of Oklahoma City.
