This new self-titled album from Jeff Bates is his first on his new label, Black River Music Group, and the first single from the album is "Don't Hate Me for Loving You." Jeff says that the album is the most honest and accurate representation of him and his music yet. He co-wrote 10 of the 13 tracks on the album, and the stories in these songs come from little pieces of his life. The album captures the moments that are the most important to him: strong family ties, love of a good woman, appreciation for the working man, and deep religious beliefs.

Jimmy Nichols co-produced the album with Kenny Beard and Mickey Jack Cones.
