Week of January 28, 2008
January 31, 2008 - Multi-Platinum selling Warner Bros. recording artist Blake Shelton has just released his current single, "Home," to country radio. The song was originally recorded by Michael Buble.
Blake was aware of the song when it first came out, but it was after his current album, Pure BS was released that he really fell in love with the song. He decided to add it to his live shows and played it for some fans and record executives last November during CMA week. By the reaction he was receiving, he felt it was something really special. "I didn't want to wait til the next album to put this out - it just feels right for now," says Shelton. And his record company, Warner Bros. agrees.
"Home" will be available on Amazon.com as a digital single, and also included on Pure BS. On February 5th, it will be available digitally at all other digital retailers. Ringtones will also be available via all carriers in early February.
On March 4th, Blake Shelton: Collector's Edition will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart. The disc will not only include "Home" but also Shelton's mega-hits "Austin," "Ol' Red," "Nobody But Me," and "Some Beach."
PURE BS Deluxe Edition, including "Home" and other unreleased material, will be available in stores this summer.
Poll Question:
Do you buy re-issues of albums that have one or two new songs added to the original version?
- Sure. I like to get all the latest music from my favorite artists.
- It depends on the artist. With some artists I do. With others, I don't.
- No. I think it's a ripoff. They should just release the new songs as singles and leave it at that. Don't make people buy the whole album again.
