February 26, 2008 - Before he went out on tour with Brad Paisley, he was warned about Brad's practical jokes, and to be alert for them. On Saturday night, the last show for the Bonfires and Amplifiers Tour, Wicks got surprised on stage by two adult men dressed as Cinderella. As Wicks performed his current Top 10 hit single, "Stealing Cinderella," from his debut album Starting Now, the "Cinderellas" followed him around the stage hitting him on the head with wands and trying to kiss him. Then during his final song, "She's Gonna Hurt Somebody," Wicks was sprayed continually by the crew and cameramen with endless silly string.
"Brad told me at the beginning of the tour that they only prank the people they like," explains Wicks. "Going into the last show I was actually hoping to get pranked or I was going to start feeling really bad."
While the tour with Brad has ended, Wicks has more dates on the road playing local clubs across the country. His single, "Stealing Cinderella" remains in the Top 10 (at No. 9 this week, and still bulleted), and still rising.
