Top 10 Country Singles
As I predicted last week, Brad Paisley's "She's Everything" starts out the year at No. 1. Rascal Flatts still sit in the No. 2 spot with "My Wish" and Rodney Atkins found himself two spots higher at No. 3. Sugarland's "Want To" dropped to No. 4, No. 5 is Tim McGraw with "My Little Girl," and No. 6 is George Strait's "It Just Comes Natural." No. 7 finds Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" and Jason Aldean is No. 8 with "Amarillo Sky." Taylor Swift is still at No. 9 with "Tim McGraw" and Montgomery Gentry close out the Top 10 with "Some People Change." My bet is on Brad Paisley being No. 1 again next week.
Moving Up at the Speed of Light
Carrie Underwood continues to climb the charts, as proven by "Wasted" advancing eleven spots to No. 40. Little Big Town's "Go Tell It On The Mountain" wound up jumping twelve spots to No. 35, but Brad Paisley beat them all. His song, "Born On Christmas Day," landed at No. 40 - thirteen spots higher than last week.
The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
Debuting this week are five songs (and three are by one artist): Brad Paisley's "Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday" at No. 59, Brad Paisley's "Winter Wonderland" at No. 58, No. 57's "A Woman's Love" by Alan Jackson, No. 55's "Penguin, James Penguin" by Brad Paisley, and Wynonna's "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" at No. 54.
Top 10 Country Album Charts
This week only the first five albums are a carbon copy of last week. Some Hearts, by Carrie Underwood, is No. 1 again, while Rascal Flatts are still stuck at No. 2 with Me And My Gang and Keith Urban's Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing remains at No. 3. Sugarland continues to Enjoy the Ride at No. 4. George Strait stayed put at No. 5 with It Just Comes Natural. Rodney Atkins' If You're Going Through Hell advanced a single spot to No. 6, which means he traded spots with (now) No. 7's Your Man by Josh Turner. Brad Paisley hasn't moved an inch with No. 8's Time Well Wasted but at least Tim McGraw advanced a spot to No. 9 with his album, Greatest Hits Volume 2: Reflected. Kellie Pickler's Small Town Girl dropped to No. 10.
Re-entering the Charts This Week
Two albums re-entered the charts this week: No. 72's Cannonball, by Pat Green, as well as Larry The Cable Guy's The Right To Bare Arms at No. 50.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for January 6, 2007.
Albums are linked to buying information, should you wish to purchase the album.
