On the Charts - Country Singles and Albums - March 10, 2007

From Shelly Fabian, About.com Guide

Top 10 Country Singles

As predicted, Trace Adkins has made it to No. 1 with "Ladies Love Country Boys." It marks the second No. 1 single for the country music artist. Rodney Atkins' "Watching You" is still hanging on to the No. 2 spot. Keith Urban advanced a spot to No. 3 with "Stupid Boy" and George Strait (at No. 4 with "It Just Comes Natural") finds himself three spots higher than last week. Kenny Chesney's "Beer In Mexico" sudsed its way up to the No. 5 position, switching places with (now) No. 6's "Alyssa Lies," by John Michael Carroll. Tim McGraw's "Last Dollar (Fly Away)" soared to No. 7, Carrie Underwood's "Wasted" is No. 8, and No. 9 is Martina McBride's song, "Anyway." Rounding out the Top 10 is "Little Bit Of Life" by Craig Morgan. It looks like Trace Adkins might still be No. 1 next week, but not without a fight from Keith Urban.

Moving Up at the Speed of Light
This weeks highest moving songs are: Sarah Buxton's "That Kind Of Day" at No. 44 and Toby Keith's "High Maintenance Woman" at No. 14. Both songs advanced a total of four spots. The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves

Only one new song hit the air waves and it is Kenny Rogers' "Calling Me"" (featuring Don Henley). It debuted at No. 59.

Top 10 Country Album Charts
The Dixie Chicks are still riding high from their five Grammy wins. Their album, Taking The Long Way, is No. 1 for the second week in a row. The next three albums are also a carbon copy of last week: Carrie Underwood at No. 2 with Some Hearts, Rascal Flatts' Me And My Gang at No. 3, and No. 4's Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing by Keith Urban. Taylor Swift's self-titled saw a one spot advancement to No. 5 and Rodney Atkins saw a one spot drop with If You're Going Through Hell hitting No. 6. Jason Michael Carroll isn't Waitin' In The Country for his album to move up the charts. The newcomer's debut went from No. 9 to No. 7 this week. Josh Turner's [link rl=http://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/kEM]Your Man[/link] is stuck at No. 8. No. 9 is Brad Paisley's Time Well Wasted. Sugarland's Enjoy the Ride is back in the Top 10 at No. 10.

Re-entering the Charts This Week
Tracy Lawrence's Then & Now: The Hits Collection re-entered the charts at No. 73, Eric Church's Sinners Like Me did three better by hitting No. 70, Craig Morgan's My Kind Of Livin' hit No. 57, and Ronnie Milsap's My Life hit No. 54.

NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for March 10, 2007.
