On the Charts - Country Singles and Albums - April 21, 2007

From Shelly Fabian, for About.com

I am taking over the "On the Charts" column for a while, and Jennifer will be taking over the New Singles column.

Top 10 Country Singles
Carrie Underwood breaks records this week as "Wasted" becomes her fourth straight No. 1 song, from her debut album, Some Hearts. Tim McGraw's "Last Dollar (Fly Away)" drops to No. 2, while Kenny Chesney idles at No. 3 with "Beer in Mexico." The next six places remain as they were last week with Rascal Flatts' "Stand" at No. 4, Sugarland's "Settlin'" at No. 5, Martina McBride's "Anyway" at No. 6, Joe Nichols' "I'll Wait For You" at No. 7, Toby Keith's "High Maintenance Woman" at No. 8, and Billy Currington's "Good Directions" at No. 9. The No. 10 spot is now held by Alan Jackson, with "A Woman's Love." Next week, I see Carrie Underwood remaing at the Top of the charts for a second week.

Moving Up at the Speed of Light
Clay Walker's "Fall" is tied for the top of the week, rising by nine, from No. 53 to No. 44. Little Texas is back with "Missing Years," which also rises by nine, from No. 54 to No. 45 this week. Bon Jovi move up seven this week with "(You Want To) Make a Memory," moving from No. 42 to No. 35.

The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
There are four new songs making their chart debut this week. Vince Gill's duet with Sheryl Crowe, "What You Give Away" holds the "Hot Shot Debut" distinction at Billboard, debuting at No. 49. John Mellencamp's "The Americans" debuts at No. 55. Donovan Chapman's latest single, "All I Need" debuts at No. 58, and Amy Dalley debuts at No. 60 with "Good Kind of Crazy."
