Top 10 Country Singles

George Strait earns his 56th No. 1 song, as "I Saw God Today" takes over the top spot on the charts this week. Trace Adkins drops one spot to No. 2 with "You're Gonna Miss This," followed by James Otto, with "Just Got Started Lovin' You," holding at No. 3. Taylor Swift moves up one spot with "Picture to Burn," followed by Phil Vassar, with "Love is a Beautiful Thing" at No. 5. Brad Paisley moves up two places with "I'm Just a Guy," and Rascal Flatts follow suit, advancing to No. 7 with "Every Day." At No. 8 is Chris Cagle's "What Kinda Gone," which drops from No. 4. Lady Antebellum moves up two to the No. 9 spot, with "Love Don't Live Here Anymore," and Carrie Underwood advances two places to take the No. 10 spot, with "Last Name." I think George Strait will hold on for a second week, but James Otto may just take the No. 1 spot from him next week. That would be his first No. 1.

Moving Up at the Speed of Light

Alan Jackson moves up fifteen places from his debut at No. 42, to No. 27 this week. Wow! The compilation live track from Sugarland, Little Big Town and Jake Owen, "Life in a Northern Town" moves up nine places, from No. 45 to No. 36. I have a feeling both these songs got a lot of interest due to them being performed on the recent CMT Music Awards broadcast. Garth Brooks moves up nine as well, with "Workin' for a Livin'," his duet with Huey Lewis. It moves from No. 49 to No. 40. Rodney Atkins moves up eight, from No. 57 to No. 49, with "Invisibly Shaken." Tim McGraw moves up six places, from No. 27 to No. 21 with "Kristofferson." Jimmy Wayne also moves up six places, from No. 41 to No. 35 with "Do You Believe Me Now." (I *LOVE* this song, BTW.)

The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves

Chuck Wicks earns the "Hot Shot Debut" distinction on Billboard this week, as he enters at No. 50 with "All I Ever Wanted." Darius Rucker (yes, the lead singer from Hootie & the Blowfish) has a new country single out called "Don't Think I Don't Think About It." It debuts at No. 51 this week.
