Saturday we were suppose to take port in Cozumel, but because of Hurricane Wilma, that was not to be, so we took port on Progreso, Mexico. A few of us went to the little market place they had set up for cruisers to shop but we didn't take the shuttle into town. That day was to also be the Beach party, but because of Wilma, the artists did a jam session on the ship at Pool side. Everyone was awesome, and Wade jammed with all of them. Shelly Fairchild was even impressed, because he had never played with her and he knew her stuff. He is such a talented artist, he can do pretty much anything you ask him to, I believe. Each artist had their moment and they were all impressive. Shelly was great, she is such a kick and has a blast on stage, you could tell. Her family was with her on the cruise, and so was Trent's family. What a nice group of people. So much fun, and they sure know how to party. This was a highlight of the cruise, just seeing everyone enjoying themselves and all playing together. Saturday night they played at poolside once again. It also was a highlight. The night started with dance music for all of us by the ship's band and boy did we dance, but as soon as they went on break, the stage was taken over by our artists. Jon Randall & his band started that nights jam session and Wade & Trent then joined in. Every single artist on this cruise was amazing!!!!!
Sunday was a relaxing day by the pool & then it was costume night. My friend and I had bought T-shirts with a funny saying on them, so we went to the costume party as bodyguards to another friend who was "The Beer Queen," with crown and all. Trent Willmon was a Pirate, Shelly Fairchild dressed up in a afro and some wild clothing. Storme Warren even dressed up. Wade was Gilligan from Gilligan's Island. He did great, and looked the part, but a much handsomer Gilligan, people said. It was really Shelly "Tiny Town" Fairchild and Jeff "Long Slow Kisses" Bates Concert night, but after Jeff and Shelly did their sessions, all 5 artists got on stage and did a awesome rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama." Let me tell you the boat was really ROCKING with that one!!
Well, after was all said and done, we knew it was our last night, so a group of us headed to the Lido deck & claimed "OUR" table that we sat at for hours upon hours every night and morning on the ship. I made some life long friends on this trip, and it was a event I will remember for the rest of my life. Plus like a new friend of mine (Shelly) stated, "I've haven't laughed that hard in my whole entire life."
