Gary Allan, originally from Southern California, started playing shows in bars at the young age of 12. He was sighned to the Decca label, and released his debut album, Used Heart for Sale in 1996, which had the single, "Her Man," which peaked at No. 7. In 1999, when Decca closed, he was picked up by MCA Nashville, and he released his third album, Smoke Rings in the Dark, which produced Gary's first Top 5 hit with "Right Where I Need To Be." With Alright Guy, Gary finally got his first No. 1 song with "Man To Man." Other popular songs include "Songs About Rain," "Nothing On But The Radio," "Tough Little Boys," and "Best I Ever Had." Gary released his sixth studio album, Tough All Over in 2005.
