Amazing Grace 3 - Various Artists

The Bottom Line

'Amazing Grace 3' has an ecclectic mix of artists from the country music world, yet with having subject matter in common all of the songs fit together quite nicely and make for one excellent album.

Guide Review - Various Artists - Amazing Grace 3

Keith Urban starts out singing "I'll Fly Away" a bit slower than usual for the song but then breaks into a faster, energetic pace after a dobro solo from Jerry Douglas. Cyndi Thomson ventures back into the musical world to sing "Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus," and listeners would never guess she has been gone for two years because she still sounds as lovely as ever sing lines like "I'm so glad I learned to trust thee precious Jesus Savior friend, and I know that thou art with me, wilt be with me til the end."

Josh Turner singing "Softly And Tenderly" slowly with his spectacular voice sounds perfect in this song about Jesus calling someone to come home because "time is fleeting and moments are passing." When he sings "Come home, ye who are weary come home," you get the feeling that if God spoke he would have a voice as commanding as the singer's. Sara Evans does a great job with "Sweet By And By," kicking up the tempo a notch giving an upbeat and positive feeling to the song about meeting on the beautiful shore.

"It Is No Secret" is full of emotion with Dierks Bentley singing about how God can do anything for you with his arms wide open and accepting anyone willing to ask for forgiveness. Buddy Jewell performs one of my favorite gospel songs, the upbeat "Leaning On The Everlasting Arms," and sounds wonderful as usual. "Victory In Jesus" by Trace Adkins makes me wish he would release a gospel album all of his own, while Joe Nichols sings "Just A Closer Walk With Thee."
