I believe that 2007 was a year filled with a vast selection of country music. The staff of AboutCountry has varied tastes, and some of us like more traditional sounds, and some of us like more contemporary country pop sounds. Some of us like both. But, we've all put on our thinking caps and come up with our 10 favorite albums for the year. Because there were so many great choices, some of us also opted to give Honorable Mention to up to two additional albums.
We went over the music that has been released during the year, and picked from all new music. We did not include any greatest hits albums, or Christmas music in our choices this year.
Because we all have such varied tastes in music, there's usually not going to be any one artist that will make every single one of our lists. However, we did have a few artists show up quite often. Brad Paisley's 5th Gear made the grade on six out of seven of our lists, while Miranda Lambert's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Josh Turner's Everything is Fine had a place on four out of seven of our lists. Making three out of seven of our lists, we found Reba McEntire's Duets, Little Big Town's A Place to Land, Joe Nichols' Real Things, and Blake Shelton's Pure BS.
We hope you enjoy reading about our picks and the reasons we chose them, and we hope that if you were on the fence about something, maybe our opinions about these various albums might help you decide whether or not you'd like to purchase these albums for your own collection. This is the Best of 2007, from the Staff of AboutCountry.
