What a year Taylor Swift
has had! She released her self-titled debut album in the Fall of 2006, and by the end of 2007, her album had sold over 2 million copies, earning her a 2x Platinum certification. As a matter of fact, it wasn't until its 39th week on the chart that her album rose to No. 1. That's not something that happens often. Most albums will have their greatest amount of sales when they first come out. The album was re-released this year in a Limited Deluxe edition, with four additional songs, and a DVD with all of Taylor's videos, and several other video pieces, including a home movie she edited herself. The week before her birthday, her third single, "Our Song"
went to No. 1, and remained there for the final two weeks of the year.
Taylor started the year with a nomination at the ACM Awards for New Female Artist, which she didn't pick up, but at the CMT Music Awards, she won for Breakthrough Video for "Tim McGraw. She replied in her acceptance speech that she was going out on tour with Brad Paisley, and she intended on taking the award along with her so all the fans could see it. And she did just that. She even let fans pose with the award. I have a picture with it myself.
