Best of Dierks Bentley Playlist

Create a playlist with these Dierks Bentley songs

Dierks Bentley released his debut self-titled album in 2003. The first single "What Was I Thinkin'" shot straight to No. 1 on the charts, and there was no looking back. Dierks released his Greatest Hits: Every Mile a Memory album in 2008, which included 10 of his biggest hits, plus two new tracks. I've chosen fifteen of my favorite Dierks Bentley songs (listed in alphabetical order) to create the ultimate Dierks Bentley playlist.

"Cab of My Truck"

Dierks Bentley - Modern Day Drifter
Dierks sings about the love he has for his truck. He says that he has everything he needs inside, from his Johnny Cash Box Set to his Red Man chew, to his girlfriend sitting right next to him.

"Come A Little Closer"

This song is definitely one of the sexiest songs Dierks has ever recorded. He sings, "Come a little closer baby. I feel like layin' you down on a bed of sweet surrender, where we can work it all out."

"Every Mile a Memory"

Dierks Bentley - Greatest Hits: Every Mile a Memory
Capitol Nashville
This song talks of being out on the road, away from the one you love, and everything you see reminds you of them. "Every day, a page turned down; every night, a lonesome sound, like a freight train rollin' through my dreams." Download/Purchase

"Feel That Fire"

Dierks Bentley - "Feel That Fire"
Capitol Nashville
In "Feel That Fire," Dierks sings about giving his lady everything she needs. He wants to make sure she knows that she's everything to him, and he'll give her anything she needs.

"Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)"

Dierks Bentley - Long Trip Alone
Capitol Nashville
Dierks sings here about living his life on the road. Nothing is tying him down. It's just as easy as a country stroll.

"How Am I Doin'"

Dierks Bentley - Dierks Bentley
Capitol Nashville
This is the perfect kiss off song. The girl has broke his heart, and comes back into his life. He tells her that sometimes he cries, but that they are tears of joy, as he's no longer under his thumb.

"I Bought the Shoes"

While this wasn't a single, it's one of the songs I really like off Dierks' self-titled debut. He laments about everything that he bought his wife, from designer clothes and new cars, and now he says that the he bought the golden ring on the hand that closed the door, and the shoes that just walked out on him.

"Long Trip Alone"

This song talks about life being a long journey, and one that seems even longer if you are going it alone. He asks his lady to walk with him a while, because it's not the same without her there.

"Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do"

Dierks tries to tell the girl in this song that he's not ready to settle down. He still has miles left to go, and he'll break her heart if she thinks she can tie him down.

"My Last Name"

This song talks about having pride in your roots. A bully makes fun of his last name, so he had to hit him. He talks about his grandfather being in the war, and how his name came back on some dogtags that no one wears anymore. One of my favorite lines is: "Passed down from generations, too far back to trace. I can see all my relations, when I look into my face."
