Each year, country music puts out some outstanding albums. AboutCountry Staff Writer Sue Bauman gives us her choices for the Best Country Albums in 2007.
1. Bucky Covington - Bucky Covington
It was a difficult choice for me, choosing my number one album this year. Several stayed in my CD player for weeks. But this disc stays in the pile I never take out of my CD player. Bucky's sincere vocals, humble persona and CD full of really great songs kept me hooked since I received the CD.
2. Joe Nichols - Real Things
Joe's more traditional song choices blended with his style of delivery made this CD a favorite of
mine. I like every song on the disc.
3. Gary Allan - Living Hard
I chose this one as my third choice after having a new awakening to his music after a recent concert I attended. Highly emotional song choices delivered Gary style has kept me playing this newer release over and over.
4. Brooks & Dunn - Cowboy Town
This CD had a little bit of everything on it for me. Love, heartbreak, religion and good times. I love a disc that has something for every mood I could be in and Brooks & Dunn always delivers that.
5. Miranda Lambert - Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Miranda can deliver a scorned woman's revenge like nobody's business and I love the energy she delivers in her songs.
She can also deliver a heartbreaker like, "More Like Her" which ended up being one of my favorites.
6. Blake Shelton - Pure BS
Blake always has a story to tell and he's got a few on this CD. I loved "Can't Be Good," and the very funny, "The
More I Drink."
7. Jason Aldean - Relentless
"Cash" hands down steals the CD but I found myself very much liking the softer side of Jason with songs like, "Do You Wish It Was Me," and "Laughed Until We Cried."
8. Brad Paisley - 5th Gear
Brad's CD's always offer lots of humor and when the single, "Ticks" was released I knew this CD would be no exception. Kung Pao Buckaroos make and appearance as does Carrie Underwood. "Letter to Me" stole my heart and is one of my favorites.
9. Josh Turner - Everything is Fine
I purchased this disc after hearing "Firecracker" and wound up loving everything on the CD. I love Josh's deep voice
and more traditional sounding country.
10. Little Big Town - A Place To Land
Rounding out my top ten is this release from a whole quartet of lead vocalists. With harmonies galore, the whole CD showcases their incredible unique sound. "I'm With The Band" and "Firebird Fly" were my favorites.
