1. Taylor Swift - 'Fearless'

Taylor Swift - FearlessBig Machine Records
Taylor Swift, the reigning teen queen of country returned with an album that was every bit as powerful as her debut self-titled CD. What makes her music unique and wonderful is how she sings what she lives, and isn't that what country music is all about?

2. Toby Keith - 'That Don't Make Me A Bad Guy'

Toby Keith - 'That Don't Make Me A Bad Guy'Showdog Nashville
Ever since Toby Keith started his own Show Dog record label, the quality of his music has been nothing short of fabulous. It's nice to hear him recording the music he likes rather than what some label big wigs tell him to record. I loved this CD because you can feel the energy from the fun in making this recording.

3. Eli Young Band - 'Jet Black and Jealous'

Eli Young Band - Jet Black and JealousUniversal South
With powerful vocals and a driving rhythm section, the Eli Young Band is one of those little gems that you find that makes you sit up and take notice. This is one fabulous CD!

4. Brad Paisley - 'Play'

Brad Paisley - 'Play'Arista Nashville
Brad Paisley is without question one of the most amazing guitar players ever in country music. What makes this album so fantastic is that you get to hear Brad show off some of his fancy finger pickin' on several instrumental tracks. Sadly, there's not enough instrumental country music these days. Floyd Cramer anyone?

5. Lee Ann Womack - 'Call Me Crazy'

Lee Ann Womack - 'Call Me Crazy'MCA Nashville
Even though this album finds Lee Ann Womack in a somewhat darker mood, the songs she's chosen still show off her beautiful voice and perfect pitch. The album is more of a return to her original country sound of the late 1990's.

6. Trace Adkins - 'X (Ten)'

Trace Adkins - 'X'Capitol Nashville
Personally, I feel that this is one Trace Adkins' best CDs. Whether he's being serious, silly or spiritual, he sings every one of these songs with feeling and honesty.

7. Crystal Shawanda - 'Dawn of A New Day'

Crystal Shawanda - Dawn of a New DayRCA Nashville
The first time I heard "You Can Let Go," I fell in love with Crystal Shawanda's voice. She sings with the maturity, depth and passion that seems to be missing in a lot of the country music today.

8. Darius Rucker - 'Learn To Live'

Darius Rucker - Learn to LiveCapitol Nashville
With all of the pop/rock singers jumping ship over to the country music genre, Darius Rucker is the one person who managed to pull it off successfully. OK, so he was with the 90's group Hootie and the Blowfish, it was still an outstanding album from a guy with a powerful voice, and very soulful vocals.

9. Kellie Pickler - 'Kellie Pickler'

Kellie Pickler - 'Kellie Pickler'Sony BMG
Sometimes music is just meant to be fun to listen to, and that is exactly what you get with the self titled album from Kellie Pickler. She's more than just a pretty face. She really delivers the goods with style.

Craig Morgan - 'That's Why'BNA Nashville
When you listen to a CD from Craig Morgan, you know that you'll hear songs from the soul that will touch the heart. He sings the way he lives. His belief in God, country and family are more than just songs that he sings. It's who he is.
