Johnny Cash is an inspiration to artists in the country genre as well as those in rock. He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame (inducted in 1980), and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (inducted in 1992), and was the second country artist to be inducted (the first being Hank Williams, Sr.). He's had chart success starting in the mid 1950s with "I Walk The Line" and "There You Go," and on through his American Recordings releases to his death in 2003.
