Ty is one of the rare artists that have had their debut single hit No. 1 on Billboard's "Hot Country Singles" chart. His following single was the duet with Stephanie Bentley. With the title of "Heart Half Empty," the song became an instant hit. The third, and final, single from the CD was the wonderful "I Want My Goodbye Back."
Although she had been recording for ten years, it was this collection of music including the CMA Song of the Year, "When You Say Nothing At All" which really brought Alison Krauss to everyone's attention.
With their debut self-titled release, Lonestar showcased their brilliant talent with uptempo songs. Sure the band is now known for their ballads but they didn't used to be that way. Their first single was "Tequila Talkin'" a mid tempo track about a guy blaming tequila for his actions. The second single was another Top 10 hit, "Runnin' Away With My Heart."
Hailed as the "new traditionalist" keeper of the flame (traditional country's), Daryle Singletary emerged on the scene in early 1995 with his honky tonk single, "I'm Livin Up To Her Low Expectations." While it wasn't bigger than a Top 40 hit, the song nonetheless created a buzz that quickly spread throughout the country music community. His following singles became Top 10 hits.
