Clay Walker was born and raised in Beaumont, TX. He was signed to Giant Records where he recorded his self-titled debut, and hit No. 1 with his first two singles -- "What's It To You," and "Live Until I Die." He followed this success with three more No. 1 songs in the first three years of his career, putting out several more albums, before moving to RCA Records in 2002.
If you've liked Clay's previous work, you'll really enjoy this album. There isn't a bad song on here. There are traditional songs, powerful ballads, and a little western swing. Something for everyone.
The biggest hit off the CD almost didn't happen at all. "Dreaming With My Eyes Wide Open" wasn't gonna be a single but after being attached to the movie "Thing Called Love" the song was released. Another No. 1 hit, this track, along with the other hits make Clay Walker's debut record one of the best to be released in the 1990s.
Clay's Greatest Hits album contains hits from his first four releases, including "What's It To You," "Live Until I Die," "Dreaming With My Eyes Wide Open," and "Then What." A great introduction to Clay's music.
