By Shelly Fabian, About.com

Lee Ann was born and raised in Jacksonville, Texas, the daughter of a disc jockey. She attended Belmont University, which led to an internship at MCA Records, where she was later signed. She released a self-titled debut in 1997 to critical acclaim. "Some Things I Know" followed in 1998, and then the triple-platinum selling "I Hope You Dance" in 2000.

1. Lee Ann Womack - Lee Ann Womack

"Never Again, Again" was the pure country song that introduced us to Lee Ann, while her 2nd single, "The Fool" went all the way to No. 1. "Buckaroo," which peaked at number twenty-eight, showcased the perky/fun side of Lee Ann as the video showed a little boy running around in between shots of her singing. A great sounding duet, "Make Memories With Me," has Mark Chesnutt as the guest vocalist.

2. Some Things I Know - Lee Ann Womack

Lee Ann's second album contained the same traditional music we all heard on her debut, plus some background vocals from Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Jason Sellers, Buddy and Judy Miller and Joe Diffie. Contains the hit single "A Little Past Little Rock," which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female Performance in 1999.

3. I Hope You Dance - Lee Ann Womack

Lee Ann Womack has found her career song with "I Hope You Dance." If you enjoy traditional music, but like a little contemporary flare, Lee Ann's album is a perfect match for you. From the soft ballads like "Why They Call It Falling," the in-your-face tune, "Does My Ring Burn Your Finger," and the wonderful cover of Don Williams' "Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good," this album is a sure fire winner.
