Summer is the season when touring is at its peak. This year, we have several big tours that will be making their way across the country in the Summer and some into the Fall. These are my picks for the Top 5 Country Tours to see this Summer.
Last year,
Faith Hill and
Tim McGraw saw their tour come in as the No. 1 country tour out there. This year, the married couple will go back out on the road in the U.S. and Canada and tour starting in Omaha, Nebraska on June 6th, and ending on August 10th in Anaheim, California. What is unique about this tour is they have no opening act, for one, and they have a fantastic stage set up in the center of the arenas, so that more fans get a closer view of the duo. I saw the tour
last year and will be going again this year. I can't wait.
Kenny Chesney is always the consummate touring artist, and he has won back to back ACM Entertainer of the Year awards, as well as being the current CMA Entertainer of the Year. The Flip Flop Summer Tour will play amphitheaters, arenas and stadiums across the country, ending in September. He brings along with him
Sugarland, and
Pat Green, and on the stadium dates adds
Brooks & Dunn and
Sara Evans.
Ronnie Dunn says "We've been working on it for eight years and talking about it forever." The idea has been discussed over the years, but differing schedules & other factors always seemed to end up getting in the way, though the duo jokes that there was another reason. Confetti. "It always gets hung up when we ask about confetti," Ronnie says. "Alan goes, You're not going to shoot confetti are you?'" The
Alan Jackson and
Brooks & Dunn tour will start on May 11th in Virginia Beach, VA, and hit about 30 cities across the country. Opening acts will be
Jake Owen and
Catherine Britt.
Brad Paisley's tour actually starts in late April, but runs through the end of August. Opening acts for the Summer leg are
Jack Ingram, Kellie Pickler, and
Taylor Swift. Then, he will continue with a
second leg in the Fall. Taylor Swift remains with Brad for the fall, but Jack Ingram and Kellie Pickler depart and
Rodney Atkins hops aboard the tour. Brad Paisley is a consummate showman, with nominations for CMA Entertainer of the Year, he definitely can put on a great show.
